Example problem 2

This problem requires a knowledge of lines and slopes to solve. We consider this to be a medium problem, worth 15 points. Send answers to mathstat@uoguelph.ca.

Is this a right triangle?

If we have three points in the plane, either they are all on the same line or they are the vertices of a triangle. The three points given above are clearly not on the same line: are they the vertices of a right triangle? Your submitted answer should explain how you arrived at your conclusions, not just say yes or no.
